Dua from The Quran

It was narrated by Imam Tabarani on the authority of Umar RA that the Messenger of Allah SAW gathered Bani Hashim and told them that:

“when any of them experienced depression or worry that they should say seven times,

“Allah rabbi la ushrik bihi shay’in”

Allah is my Lord I do not associate any partners with him

Hadith

None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.”

Related by Bukhari & Muslim

In this society, we live where people are shy to give advice or get offended to accept advice. When in reality, we should be welcoming in accepting other’s advice and give advice in the best way. This is essential for the fabric of the community and for your personal self.

You hold yourself accountable and question yourself about your feelings towards your brother, sister, or humanity and why you feel that way. We should seek to attain this level, to have this love towards a cause. This cause is a principle that we love and we know that Allah can give and He is bountiful, and not by anything else.

Allah’s Names

The names and attributes of Allah are part of tahweed (belief). To know Allah we need to know His attributes.

Al Muhaymin:

The protector, The overseer

Meanings:

 – The one who watches and looks after. Literally this verb is used for when a hen spreads her wings and covers her chicks. So protecting, guarding, completely covering and controlling.

 – Al Muhaymin is the One who observes His creation with regards to their actions.

– He will not reduce the deeds at all

– He knows what is harmful for you and what is beneficial for you

If this reminder is of benefit to you, please remember to make dua for the success of NILC and the success of our staff in this dunya and the akhirah

Seeds of Faith 2

Dua from The Quran

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
[البقرة :201]

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil ‘akhirati hasanatan waqina ‘adhaban-nar

Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the chastisement of the fire
[2:201]

Al-Hasan said: ‘al-Hasana (good) in the Dunyaa is knowledge and worship, and in the Hereafter it is Paradise.’ Sufyan said: ‘al-Hasana (good) in the Dunyaa is knowledge and good provision, and in the Hereafter Paradise.’ [From: ‘Lattaif al-Ma’arif p.302

Hadith

“Actions are according to intentions, and everyone will get what was intended. Whoever migrates with an intention for Allah and His messenger, the migration will be for the sake of Allah and his Messenger. And whoever migrates for worldly gain or to marry a woman, then his migration will be for the sake of whatever he migrated for.” [Bukhari & Muslim]

Scholars have commented that this hadith comprises one-third of knowledge because the actions of man involve his heart, his tongue and his limbs, and hence the intention in the heart is one-third of action

Allah’s Names

The names and attributes of Allah are part of tahweed (belief). To know Allah we need to know His attributes.

Al Mumin :

The One who faithfully bestows the gifts of peace, safety and security. The One who grants freedom from fear. The One who illuminates the heart with faith. The One who is most trustworthy.

Linguistic Roots:

1)  From emaan, it means The One who gives emaan. Mu’min is One who has emaan, One who gives emaan and One who believes. Emaan is the opposite of denial. When we have emaan in something, we affirm that is true.  Mu’min is One who believes, gives emaan and affirms the truth.

2)From aman (safety, security and freedom from fear), The One who gives Security and Peace. The opposite of security is i: fear, so Mu’min is The One who removes the fear. Furthermore, from this same root is the word amaanah (امانة), which give Al Mu’min the meaning of The One who is Faithful.

Dua from The Quran

حَسْبِيَ اللّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِي

Hasbiyah Allahu la Ilaa ha illa huwa. ‘alayhi twakkal tu wa huwa rabbul ‘arshil adheem (9:129)

Allah is sufficient for me. None has the right to be worshipped but He, in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.

The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, “Allah will grant whoever recites this seven times in the morning and evening whatever he desires from this world or the next.” [Saheeh, Sunan Abee Dawood]

Hadith

Indeed the nearest to Allah are those who make salaam first. (Ahmad)

Exchanging salaam holds a high position in Islam. Not only is salaam equated with many other important deeds, but it is one of the defining criteria of belief.

Allah’s Names

The names and attributes of Allah are part of tahweed (belief). To know Allah we need to know His attributes.

 al quddus

Al Quddus :

The One who is Very Pure, Absolutely Pure, He is far and above anything that does not befit Him.

The basic meaning is derived from the word “Quds”-pure and blessed. So, Al-Quddus refers to one who is free and perfect from any deficiency, holy in all aspects

The First meaning of Qaf-daal-seen (ق د س), quds, is taharah (cleanliness). The verb qadasa is from the same root and it is used for the movement of a bucket. Why is it called qadasa? Because from the bucket that has water, you will obtain purity and cleanliness.

The second meaning of this root is barakah, a lot of goodness. So with this meaning, Al Quddoos means: The One who is Blessed, the One who is the Source of All Good, The One with a lot of Khayr. This root means to be or go far away. So Allah ta`ala (most High) is far from any impurity or imperfection.
