In December 2013, after extensive fundraising, and with the help of generous donations from our local community, two of the brothers that work with NILC went on Human Aid’s EMS Convoy in Memory of Dr Abbas Khan.
Since they have been back, we have heard their stories about the families they met, and the situations they are in, and the hospitality and determination and the faith of the Syrian people. We have seen the way that this journey has effected them and motivated them to do even more fundraising to help our brothers and sisters in need.
We want to support them in their efforts, and do whatever we can for our suffering brothers and sisters.
March 15 2014 marks the three year anniversary since the conflict in Syria began. Since then, more than 130,000 people have been killed, 2.4 million refugees have fled to neighbouring countries and another six million people have been displaced inside Syria. The number of vulnerable people is increasing as the humanitarian crisis deepens
We need to do whatever we can to help them. If it was us we would hope that people would help. It is our responsibility to help.
We will be walking from Newham Islamic Learning Centre premises in Manor Park E12, to Regents Park Masjid (London Central Mosque), a distance of approximately 11 miles. Please sponsor our walk!
