Life is worth Living – a letter to my 14 year old self
“God does not look at your figures, nor at your attire but He looks at your hearts [and deeds].”
Dear 14 year old me,
Life is worth living.
I know you don’t believe me, but it is.
The darkness will end.
There will be a day when your chest is filled with light, and the heaviness is gone,
a day when you understand your purpose.
Don’t live to please others,
accept there are those who will never be pleased.
You are not worthless. Value yourself. you are precious.
Don’t try and be accepted, just be yourself.
Learn what you like and what you don’t like, your own interests and feelings, don’t be afraid to tell people and be confident about these things.
You don’t need to follow the crowd, in twenty years time they will not be here. You do not need to please them, impress them, to envy them.
Don’t be angry, try and understand, it is hard for people to give what they have never experienced themselves.
People try the best with the knowledge and understanding they have at the time.
You didn’t ask to be born. It was out of your hands.
It was destiny you were born, no one could have stopped it.
Now learn to live. Learn to believe. Learn to love yourself.
You are worth loving,
What you are searching for will come.
Do you know what it is yet? what you are trying to achieve?
You want to feel loved, to feel acceptance to feel as if you belong.
And you will. One day. In a way you could never believe it would happen! No one could!
Stop self destructing. Stop hurting yourself. In so many ways.
Your cries for help, they won’t help you, no one knows how to help.
Do not hurt yourself because you can’t hurt others. Learn to let it go. Ponder on the lives of those who cause the anger. Imagine what they have been through. Have compassion for them, the way you want them to have for you.
You are a child, it is not your fault. Do not try to be an adult.
That won’t fill the space.
You are not alone. God loves you. Ask for His guidance. When you feel restless then pray.
Rethink your friends. Be around people who make you feel good about yourself. If they don’t why are you with them?
Don’t be so needy. Let people chase you. If they are not bothered then you don’t be too.
Don’t hang around with bitches and gossips. It will get you nothing but strife. You can and will beat them at their own game.
But it still won’t fill the space.
Don’t waste your time. Who cares what others think? you do? but why?
Don’t you know? choose friends who like you for who you are, not who you know, what you look like, what you will do for them.
I have got a feeling you don’t understand, you think you have tried that, it’s too late to stop.
It’s never too late.
“By the Glorious Morning Light,
And by the Night when it is still,
Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased
And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present.
And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 1.”
and know it is true!
What is that? Where is it from?
Ask God for guidance, you will find it yourself.
No he will not turn you away.;
“‘O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an Earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an Earthful of pardon.” 2.
Have hope, do not despair. Life is worth living.
““And make not your own hands contribute to your destruction; but do good; for God loves those who do good.” 3.
wow, these quotes explain so eloquently exactly what I was trying to tell you hun.
and know that
“God does not look at your figures, nor at your attire but He looks at your hearts [and deeds].” 4.
So concentrate on that, making your heart pure, doing good things.
Everything else is like a distraction. From what is real. That’s why you feel as if you are always in a dream!
You will wake up, one day you will have everything you dreamed off, you will have unconditional love, a husband who adores you, beautiful children, real friends, a good relationship with your mum. What you want is not too much.
Don’t be afraid of the future, because you will have a future. Nothing you do will change that. Don’t be afraid to dream. to have aspirations. Don’t be afraid if they are not those which are expected of you. You know in your heart what you crave and desire, don’t be put off by status and approval of others, careers and riches. All that glitters is not gold.
Whatever you don’t forget to ask God for guidance,
If the servant draws near to Me a hand span, I draw near to him an arm’s length; and if he draws near to Me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I come to him running. 5.
